Visiting Coral Island

Entry requirements

Who needs a visa to enter Coral Island, what happens at the desk at Sandy Shores Airfield and the checks on arrival.

Who needs a visa

Everyone except citizens of Coral Island. Residents of San Andreas are not citizens of Coral Island, and living in San Andreas gives no right of entry.

You need one of these before you travel:

Applications are not accepted at the desk or on arrival.

At the desk at Sandy Shores Airfield

The Coral Island Flights desk is at Sandy Shores Airfield.

  1. Go to the Coral Island Flights desk and check in. The check-in panel shows your documents, your status, your fingerprints and any fees due.
  2. Immigration checks your status against the Department's register before the airline takes your fare.
  3. If you hold an authorised visa, residence permit or certificate of citizenship the fare of $500 is charged and you board.
  4. If you do not, you are refused carriage. The reason is given and no fare is taken.

You can enrol your fingerprints and pay outstanding fees at the desk. The fare is charged by the airline for each flight to the island. It is not a Government fee. Return flights land at Sandy Shores Airfield.

On arrival

Your entry is recorded against your visa when you land at Coral Island Airfield. Officers may check your status on arrival and at any time during your stay.

What to have with you

  • Your visa number. It is shown under Your visas once approved, with a verification code.
  • The person named on the visa. A visa belongs to one person and cannot be used by another.
  • Enough money for the fare.

Do not bring a firearm, ammunition, a prohibited weapon or any controlled drug, including cannabis. See restrictions at a glance.

Private aircraft and vessels

If you arrive by private aircraft or vessel, you need clearance to enter as well as a visa. Clearance is separate: it lets the craft through the island's airspace or waters. It does not let anyone on board enter the island without a visa.

Read arriving by air or arriving by sea.

If you are refused at the desk

The desk tells you why. The usual reasons are that you hold no visa, your visa has expired or been revoked, or an entry ban is in force against you. Apply or renew online, or read your visa page for the details of a ban.
