Holding an event
When an event needs a permit, the public venues on the island, the fees and the conditions.
When you need a permit
You need a permit if your event:
- is held in a public place and more than 20 people are expected
- uses amplified music, fireworks or stage effects
- sells or serves alcohol to the public
- uses a public venue

- Puerto Coral harbour front
- Coral Island Airfield apron
- Mangrove Bay beach
- Palm Ridge lookout
- Government Complex courtyard, official events only
Fees

The fee is paid before the permit is decided.
When to apply
Apply at least 48 hours before the event and no more than 60 days ahead. Later applications are accepted but may not be decided in time.
Conditions
The Events and Permits Office may attach conditions, such as finishing times or stewarding. Every permit requires the organiser to follow any direction given by an officer of the Coral Island Police Service. Fireworks and stage effects must stop by 23:00.
The Police Service is told of every permitted event. If you agree, your event is listed on the events page.
Alcohol sold under an event permit needs no separate liquor licence (section 9). Firearms are not allowed at a permitted event.
Gaming at your event
Tournaments and other gaming events need a gaming event permit from the Gaming Commission as well.
