Coral Island Gaming Commission
The independent body that licenses and supervises casino gaming on the island, keeps the public register and runs the self-exclusion scheme.
An independent Commission
The Coral Island Gaming Commission was established by the Gaming and Casino Control Ordinance 2026. It decides licences independently of Ministers. Where a member of the Government has an interest in an applicant or a licence holder, the interest is published in the Register of Interests.
Licence classes and fees
| Licence | For | Fee | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Casino operator's licence | A company operating a casino on the island | $25,000 | 180 days |
| Key employee licence | Managers and others who control gaming operations | $1,000 | 90 days |
| Gaming employee licence | Dealers, cashiers and floor staff | $250 | 90 days |
| Gaming event permit | A tournament or single gaming event | $2,500 | The event |
The fit and proper test
Every applicant must show that they are fit and proper to hold a licence. The Commission checks warrants and convictions and may inspect premises.
- An active warrant bars every class of licence.
- A conviction in the last 30 days bars a casino operator's or key employee licence.
Responsible gaming
Every casino must display the responsible gaming notice and run the self-exclusion scheme. If you want to stop yourself from gambling, ask the casino operator to exclude you. The operator must notify the Commission.
The public register
Every licence in force is on the register of gaming licences. Individuals are named only if they agree.
