Reef and Marine Parks Ordinance 2026Ordinance No. 7 of 2026

1. Short title

This Ordinance may be cited as the Reef and Marine Parks Ordinance 2026.

3. The Reef Line

The Reef Line is the fringing reef around Coral Island. No vessel may anchor on it.

4. Protected areas

The Minister may by order designate protected areas and the acts prohibited in them.

6. The Reef Pledge

Visitors are asked to take the Reef Pledge.

9. Seasonal notices

The Minister may by notice in the Gazette restrict anchoring, fishing and speed near the Reef Line for a season.

11. Wardens

Reef wardens may give directions and board vessels in a protected area to secure compliance.

13. Offences

It is an offence to do an act prohibited in a protected area, to breach a seasonal notice or to obstruct a warden.
