Emergency Powers Ordinance 2026: commencement

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under section 1 of the Emergency Powers Ordinance 2026 that:

1. The Emergency Powers Ordinance 2026 (No. 21 of 2026), made by the President on the advice of the Transitional Council on 29 September 2026, comes into force on 1 October 2026.
2. No state of emergency is in force.
3. Any proclamation of a state of emergency, and any curfew order or evacuation order, will be published in the Gazette and on the alerts page. A curfew order may be made only during a state of emergency (section 7).
4. The border status, and any lockdown of the airspace and waters of Coral Island, remain governed by section 5 of the Border Security and Airspace Ordinance 2026 and are published on the border status page. A lockdown is not a state of emergency.
