Event permits: what organisers need to know

Larger public events on the island now need a permit from the Events and Permits Office. Apply at least 48 hours before the event.

Published

PUERTO CORAL, 29 September 2026. The Events and Permits Office now issues event permits under the Public Order and Events Ordinance 2026.

You need a permit if your event:

  • is held in a public place and more than 20 people are expected
  • uses amplified music, fireworks or stage effects
  • sells or serves alcohol to the public
  • uses a public venue such as the harbour front, Mangrove Bay beach or the airfield apron

A permit costs $500 for up to 50 people and $1,500 for a larger event, with a $500 supplement for fireworks or stage effects. Apply at least 48 hours before the event.

The Office may attach conditions, such as finishing times or stewarding, and informs the Coral Island Police Service of every permitted event. If you agree, your event is listed on the events page.
