Reef and Marine Parks (Protected Areas) Order 2026
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Reef and Marine Parks Ordinance 2026, the following Order is made.
- Citation and commencement. This Order may be cited as the Reef and Marine Parks (Protected Areas) Order 2026 and comes into force on 29 September 2026.
- Protected areas. The following are protected areas:
- the Reef Line Protected Area: the fringing reef around Coral Island and the waters within 200 metres of it
- Mangrove Bay Marine Park: the waters of Mangrove Bay
- Salt Pond Wildlife Reserve: Salt Pond and its shore
- Prohibited acts. In a protected area no person may anchor a vessel except on a fixed mooring, damage or remove coral, or take any fish or shellfish except as permitted by a notice under section 9 of the Ordinance.
- Wardens. Reef wardens may give directions to any person in a protected area to secure compliance with this Order.
