Coral spawning season 2026: restrictions on the Reef Line

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under section 9 of the Reef and Marine Parks Ordinance 2026 and the Reef and Marine Parks (Protected Areas) Order 2026 that from 1 October 2026 to 30 November 2026:

  1. No vessel may anchor within 200 metres of the Reef Line. Visiting vessels must use the fixed moorings at Puerto Coral harbour, Northpoint Landing or Mangrove Bay.
  2. Spearfishing and the taking of any coral, shell or reef fish within the Reef Line Protected Area and Mangrove Bay Marine Park are prohibited.
  3. Vessels within 200 metres of the Reef Line must not exceed 5 knots between sunset and sunrise.
  4. Reef wardens may board any vessel within the Protected Area to enforce this notice.
