Road Traffic Ordinance 2026: commencement, speed limits and driving licences

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under section 1 of the Road Traffic Ordinance 2026 that:

  1. The Road Traffic Ordinance 2026 (No. 18 of 2026), made by the President on the advice of the Transitional Council on 29 September 2026, comes into force on 1 October 2026.
  2. A person may drive a motor vehicle on a road on Coral Island if they hold a valid driving licence for that class of vehicle issued by the Los Santos authorities or by the authorities of any other state. Coral Island does not issue driving licences (section 3).
  3. Vehicles keep to the right-hand side of the road. The speed limit is 50 kilometres an hour in Puerto Coral and at Coral Island Airfield, and 80 kilometres an hour elsewhere, unless a sign shows a different limit (section 5).
  4. The prescribed limit for driving is a blood alcohol concentration of 0.05 per cent (section 9).
  5. Exceeding a speed limit and driving a vehicle off the road may be dealt with by a penalty notice under the Penalty Notices Regulations 2026 (LN 5/2026).
