Liquor Licensing Ordinance 2026: commencement and applications for premises licences
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under section 1 of the Liquor Licensing Ordinance 2026 that:
- The Liquor Licensing Ordinance 2026 (No. 17 of 2026), made by the President on the advice of the Transitional Council on 29 September 2026, comes into force on 1 October 2026.
- Applications for premises licences are made in person at the Business Registry counter, Government Complex, Puerto Coral, with a plan of the premises. A premises licence is granted only to the holder of a business licence (section 5).
- The fee of $2,000 for a premises licence of 90 days, prescribed by the Fees and Charges (Amendment) Regulations 2026 (LN 6/2026), is paid at the Business Registry counter when the application is lodged. A written receipt is given.
- A person selling alcohol on Coral Island on 1 October 2026 may continue to do so until 31 October 2026 if they apply for a premises licence by that date (section 16).
- Alcohol sold at an event held under an event permit that authorises its sale needs no premises licence (section 9).
- It is an offence to sell alcohol to a person under 18, or to buy alcohol for them (section 10).
